English Version:

More than a year ago, T-Mobile realized a revolutionary event for communication and advertising: flash mobs have become a new way to generate word of mouth and press articles about a product or a brand.
But, as any communication trend, many companies are always seeking opportunities to communicate at lower cost, even though their activities or products aren't linked with a street audience. In this way, flash mobs has become more an more basic and people and media start losing the WoW effect by attending one.

A typical exemple will be a flash mob organized recently to celebrate the opening of a new banking agency in a mall in Portugal.

However, advertisers and agencies tend to rationalize nowadays the use of flash mobs: one of the last exemple is the H&M event in San Francisco.

On March 27th, 55 H&M dressed up kids have unveiled the new spring-summer H&M kids collection by reinterpreting catwalks in streets. The place, Union Square is one of the most touristic point in SF, also famous as the most fashionable retail shops are closed to (Macy's, Bloomingdales, Saks, etc.).

After watching the clip, you will certainly agree that it looks like a colorful street demonstration, which unveils perfectly all the new collection to the audience.

The Icing on the Cake ? Indeed, 3 H&M retail stores are located close to Union Square, and this dancing show is an opportunity to motivate people to discover in-store new H&M trends.

A great work realized by New York agency Mr Youth and a production company, Teak Digital. Flash mobs are recommended only if it is useful and justified with your brand !
